It's been a very long time since I've posted here. Nothing since December!
Well, Lando is now 2½ years old. He's running around like a nut, talking up a storm, and generally wearing us out!
After going to the Springfield Highland Games & Celtic Festival and watching Riverdance, he became very interested in Irish dancing. Well, very interested in jumping about and stomping his feet on the floor, which is basically a toddler's version of Irish dancing.
After watching Stomp, Blue Man Group, and Tartanic, he became very interested in drumming on everything in sight. I made a brief DVD of Tartanic's performance, which Lando demanded we play over and over and over.... He pretty much divided the world up into two parts -- drums and drumsticks.
When we went to to the Bristol Renaissance Faire, he watched jousting by the Hanlon-Lees Action Theater. We bought a DVD about them, and he demanded that we play it over and over and over.... Now he again divides the world up into two parts. Now everything is either a sword or a shield.
It remains to be seen what he'll be obsessively into next month. Apparently little kids do this because, being surrounded by so much that is new, once they figure something out, they enjoy doing that thing as a way to stop encountering still more stuff that is new and incomprehensible.
Hopefully we won't go insane from drumming and jousting before he moves on to the next thing!
