Cat(s)
While we were eating dinner last night, Dawn stopped eating and began looking at me expectantly. "Okay," I thought, "what's going on?"
"I want a cat," she said.
Well that didn't take long. :-) She hasn't been without a cat since... well, at least since college, and she doesn't like it. So on Monday we'll be going to the vet to adopt Licorice, the cat that donated the blood for Marta's transfusion. She's a 4-year-old black cat with white spots.
I agreed, but I said I also want to adopt a kitten, so sometime after Christmas we'll be going to the Animal Protective League to pick out a kitten. It's been many years since I had a kitten, so I want to once again experience the joy of watching a little furball do completely stupid things that older cats are far too wise to do.
Snow!
Also last night we got the first real snow of the season, about an inch. When I went outside this morning to clear the snow off the car, in addition to tracks of the newspaper delivery boy and various rabbits, I also saw deer tracks going right through our yard and driveway. We live in a subdivision, you stupid deer!
Later Dawn took Lando outside and they built a snowman. One problem that immediately became apparent is that we haven't bought him new boots. All we have are his green frog rain boots, which don't fit him anymore. We'll have to get him some real snow boots before we get a major snow storm.
Ice?
Speaking of which, tomorrow night and Sunday we're supposed to get rain, freezing rain, sleet, ice, and general nastiness. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad, because we're supposed to be having a birthday party on Sunday! We'll see....
