Recently I came across an article about the link between clutter in our homes and weight loss. The idea was, if your house is a mess, it's harder for you to exercise and lose weight. You're not likely to play basketball if you can't find the ball, for example. "Interesting point," I thought to myself.
The next day my brother posted his review of It's All Too Much: An Easy Plan for Living a Richer Life with Less Stuff, by Peter Walsh. It sounded quite interesting, so when I went to Amazon to read more about the book, I found that the same author has written a new book, due out in February, called Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?: An Easy Plan for Losing Weight and Living More. Yes, it's about how clutter makes it harder for us to lose weight!
Synchronicity at work?
There's just one problem:
- If I could lose weight, I would have more energy.
- If I had more energy, I could declutter the house.
- If the house were less cluttered, we could cook more.
- If we cooked more, we would eat healthier.
- If I ate healthier, I would lose weight.
Second verse, same as the first!
Well, losing weight is part of my resolutions for the new year (what a surprise!), so perhaps I can jump into this circle in mid-dance and get up to speed. We'll see.
